Actress Deepika Padukone has voiced her concern over the poor air quality in Mumbai and questioned the civic body, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), over the same. She took to social media to share a photo of the Mumbai region map along with the poor air quality index.
Sharing it, she wrote, "The citizens of this city and it's children are choking! How is this okay? BMC and BMC Health Department please help!"
Mumbai's AQI has been recorded at 159, which is considered 'unhealthy'.
Take a look at her post:

Earlier, artistes like Saiyami Kher and Richa Chadha also raised concerns over the same.
Saiyami wrote, "I started running a decade ago. Every morning, I’d find myself on Carter Road, chasing the ocean breeze. That wind is what made me fall in love with this city and running. I want to feel it again. And dystopian as it is, I put on a mask before lacing my shoes. It took me back to the pandemic. Except there’s no virus in the air endangering our life. The air itself could kill us."
Richa, on the other hand, called the poor air quality a 'manmade tragedy'.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh welcomed their daughter Dua in September 2024. Her last film before Dua's birth was Singham Again, where she shared the screen with Ranveer, among others. The actress is now working on Shah Rukh Khan starrer, and Siddharth Anand directed King. Alongside SRK and Deepika, the film will also star Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, Saurabh Shukla and more in key roles. It will be released theatrically on December 24, 2026. The actress is also doing a film with Atlee and Allu Arjun.
