The coronavirus pandemic forced the entire nation to go into a state of lockdown. This majorly hit the film industry since it also brought all production work and film releases to a halt. Three months later, while films are looking to go back on floors again, there still remains a big doubt over when we will see a theatrical release again.
Many filmmakers have opted to go the OTT way in order to release their film for the audience and looks like we might have another addition to the list. Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday’s exciting project Khaali Peeli is said to be gearing up for a digital release. During an interview with a leading daily, producer Ali Abbas revealed that they will take a final call only judging the situation once the film is completed. He said, “Right now, we are focused on completing the film. After that, it will be wait-and-watch. We don’t know when the theatres will open and at what capacity they will run.”
Talking about the film, Ali said, “It’s a commercial potboiler and the fresh pairing of Ishaan and Ananya makes it interesting. They brought a lot of youthful energy to the shoot. Everyone had a blast and it shows in the edit.”
Khaali Peeli is directed by Maqbool Khan and was slated to release on June 12 2020.
