AR Murugadoss' Sikandar, starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, among others, is currently running in the theatres. The film sees Khan play the character of Sanjay Sikandar Rajkot, the king of Rajkot. He becomes a target for Minister Rakesh Pradhan after he finds out that Sikandar got into a fight with his son. The film also sees Salman Khan take a stand for the common people.
The film earned Rs 26 crore on Day 1 at the domestic box office. Sikandar had 21.60% Hindi occupancy on the first day. Owing to the Eid holiday on Monday, March 31, the film collection showed a slight improvement.

Sikandar Day 2 Box Office Collection
The film earned around Rs 29.00 crore in India on its second day, as per Sacnilk. This brings the total collection of the film to Rs 55.00 crore. The Salman Khan starrer had an overall 24.60% Hindi occupancy on March 31. The maximum occupancy came from night shows at 33.12%.

Sikandar vs L2: Empuraan
Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran's L2 Empuraan, which was released a couple of days before Sikandar, is also performing well at the domestic box office. While Sikandar collected Rs 55 crore in two days, Empuraan's collection stands at Rs 70 crore in five days. As of now, Sikandar seems to have a good start, but Empuraan's collection is also increasing steadily, giving competition to the Salman Khan starter.
Filmfare's Review of Sikandar
Filmfare's reviewer gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and said, "The film lacks a compelling narrative arc and offers a rather underwhelming experience. For all its flashy action and bombastic spectacle, Sikandar feels like a missed opportunity – a film where style far outweighs substance. If you’re after an intelligent thriller, prepare for disappointment. But if you came for Salman Khan’s swagger and his larger-than-life charisma, well, you’ll get exactly that."
