Sonam Kapoor is one of the few Bollywood stars who always has voiced out her opinion and called out what she feels is wrong. While many stars try to play it safe when it comes to to sharing their opinion on controversies, Sonam has never backed down from expressing what she feels is right. Sonam plays a character of a lesbian girl in her latest release Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and her performance in the film has been extremely well received by the critics as well last the audience.
During an interview with a leading news portal, the actor spoke about how she feels that the Me Too movement seems to have watered down and why we need to be more attentive towards it. The actress said, “We are definitely trivialising it (MeToo movement). If you have to, you have to do it with a lot of thought. And you have to do it...because it's become watered down now. It's all gone and unfortunately, it is the way it is. We need to be a little more careful about the accusation and articles. The media doesn't realise how powerful it can be.”
India’s Me Too movement got a kid start after Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar for sexual harassment. This incident inspired many women across the country to gather the courage to share their experiences. Industry names like Alok Nath, Sajid Khan and Vikas Bahl also couldn’t escape the wave of Me Too movement.
