Batwara 1947 keeps Preity Zinta busy
Preity Zinta has spoken about why she missed the 25th-anniversary celebrations of the iconic film. She explained that prior professional commitments kept her away. She has been busy attending promotional events for her upcoming period drama, Batwara 1947, which, incidentally, is produced by Aamir himself. In a playful comment, she remarked that Aamir effectively divided their schedules. While she prioritised her duties for the new release, the rest of the team gathered to mark the milestone. “I would have liked to share a lot of memories. But Aamir ne hi batwara kar diya humara,” Preity remarked.
‘Want to collaborate with Aamir agan’
She continues to admire Dil Chahta Hai and its enduring legacy. “So, I am really looking forward to working with him again, hopefully, on another film that becomes just as memorable. DCH was truly a memorable film. To me, Batwara 1947 is also going to be a memorable film,” she added.
Preity’s early career took off with Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se.., which was headlined by Shah Rukh Khan, in 1998. Premante Idera, her Telugu debut, was a romantic action drama fronted by Venkatesh Daggubati. Raja Kumarudu, Mahesh Babu’s debut film, featured her in a bubbly role. Mission Kashmir, Farz and Chori Chori Chupke Chupkepreceded the release of DCH in Hindi.
