That's during the Ayyappa Swamy Deeksha, one of the most rigorously observed rituals popular across the southern Indian states. His motive? His pre-teen daughter, Manikantha's, well-being. Ravi Teja, otherwise a laid-back villager, can go to any extent as a father who knows only unconditional love for his daughter.
That's Irumudi for you, a family action drama set to release in theatres on August 21. The Mass Maharaja turns vigilante when a major scandal breaks out at the Zilla Parishad school where his daughter, played by Baby Nakshathra, is studying. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays his wife, while veteran actor Sai Kumar has a prominent role.
Director Shiva Nirvana envisions a super-gutsy role for Ravi Teja, known for his high-energy performances and punchy action throughout his career. The father-daughter bond is adorned with heart-tugging emotions, while the action sequences appear to be blended with a spiritual aesthetic. “It's my weakness to see my daughter in any young girl. Don't mess with it,” the hero warns.
Irumudi genre is in vogue

This trend shows how audiences connect deeply with stories where intense heroism aligns with faith, cultural roots and traditional spiritual themes. Irumudi follows this emerging tradition.
Ravi Teja's second theatrical release
