Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, continues to maintain a steady run at the box office. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences, the film has shown positive growth as it heads into its first weekend.
According to data from the trade website Sacnilk, the film opened in India with a collection of Rs 13.5 crore nett. On its second day, Saturday, it saw an increase in earnings, adding Rs 16.25 crore to its total. This brings the domestic two-day collection of the movie to Rs 29.75 crore. On a global scale, the film's performance has been even better, crossing the Rs 50.95 crore mark within just two days of its release.

Occupancy rates for the film on Saturday indicate a growing interest throughout the day. Sacnilk reported an overall occupancy of 26 per cent across 10,245 shows. Breaking this down, the occupancy started at 13.23 per cent during the morning shows and saw a rise to 42.46 per cent by the night shows.
The sequel has also managed to outperform the initial two-day business of the original Cocktail. The 2012 romantic drama had earned Rs 23.18 crore in India during its first two days.
The success of Cocktail 2 comes amid a crowded release window. The film is currently competing against several new releases, including Bobby Deol's Bandar, the Hollywood horror film Obsession, Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga, and Vikram Bhatt's Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past.

Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 tells the story of Kunal, played by Shahid Kapoor, and Diya, played by Rashmika Mandanna, who are childhood sweethearts. The couple shares a strong bond but faces hesitation about marriage. Their dynamic shifts during a holiday in Sicily where they reconnect with Diya’s close friend, Ally, played by Kriti Sanon, who encourages them to spend time with her instead of following their travel plans.
The film, which was released in theatres on June 19, explores the emotional complexities of the trio as insecurities come to the fore.
