Allu Arjun Atlee Set for Minimalist Birthday Reveal

Fans of Allu Arjun should temper their expectations for a massive update this week. While the icon actor celebrates his birthday on Wednesday (April 8), reports suggest Sun Pictures, the production house, is opting for a restrained approach on AA22 x A6 (tentatively titled).

First look on Allu Arjun’s birthday?

According to sources, instead of unveiling a visually dazzling teaser or a release date, the production team is expected to unveil only the official title of AA22 via a first-look poster. The decision follows some scheduling shifts. A planned overseas shooting schedule has been cancelled due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. It goes without saying that the unexpected development has pushed the production timeline.

Inevitable delay?

It's inevitable! AA22 x A6, which was originally eyeing a 2026 slot, may not hit theatres until the summer months of 2027. Allu Arjun is said to be in no hurry to rush the process. He is intent on a superior quality product under director Atlee Kumar. Given the director’s reputation for high-octane commercial cinema and the film’s heavy reliance on cutting-edge VFX, the extended wait until 2027 was only to be expected. In fact, the whispers in late 2025 had hinted at the potential delay. This was much before the ongoing Iran-US war.

This ambitious collaboration is shaping up to be a hero-based sci-fi action epic set with strong emotional undertones. The Pushpa 2 actor will take on a demanding double role (and potentially even more character shades). The scale of the project is reflected in its superstar ensemble, with Deepika Padukone locked as the female lead.

Allu Arjun and Atlee united for the project in early 2025. Since then, the project's scale has been talked about across the Telugu, Hindi and Tamil industries. Sai Abhyankar is setting the music. The film's title has been closely guarded to ensure no leaks.
