Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt’s bond goes a long way back. The filmmaker launched Alia back in 2012 in the film Student Of The Year. The film did well at the box-office and was quite talked about among the youth. Some also called it too ‘glossy’. Alia’s journey began in Bollywood with the commercial hit. The actress went on to do films like Highway, Udta Punjab, Raazi, Dear Zindagi, Gully Boy and many more, which cemented her position as a phenomenal actress.
Recently, Karan Johar was questioned during an interview about Alia Bhatt and whether he believed he had used her well in her debut film. He replied with candour, "She wasn’t used for her talent at all. In many ways, her emotional launch is Student Of The Year but her real professional launch is Imtiaz Ali’s Highway. The way he nurtured her as an actor, the way he put her out there is something I didn’t do at all." Well, it’s always great to find directors being so candid. No wonder, Alia, who’s now doing Dharma Productions’ Brahmastra, shares such an unbreakable bond with Karan.
