5 big stories from the week gone by

Truly a great time for women in Bollywood, last week saw our leading ladies making a lot of noise. Right from Priyanka Chopra Jonas becoming the first Indian star to feature on Behind The Tweets to Madhuri Dixit Nene announcing her next Marathi film. In addition to this, young Janhvi Kapoor also joined hands with dad Boney Kapoor for a project and hot bomb Disha Patani got roped in for Ekta Kapoor’s next. With all this happening, we could have easily declared last week as the week of women in Bollywood but then we had superstar Salman Khan starting work on his big Eid 2020 release.

1.     Priyanka Chopra Jonas is the first Indian star to feature on Behind The Tweets

Coming in as great news for all Priyanka Chopra Jonas fans, the actress has become the first Indian star to feature on #BehindTheTweets.  The same is conducted by Twitter Movies where they interview celebrities and ask them to decode their tweets through a video series and this time chosen for the same is PeeCee. The global icon has now joined the likes of Blake Lively, Cole Sprouse and the Jonas Brothers who have earlier been on #BehindTheTweet.

2.     Janhvi Kapoor teams up with father Boney Kapoor for Bombay Girl

Janhvi Kapoor is all set to collaborate with father, Boney Kapoor for the first time for a film project. The movie is being titled Bombay Girl and revolves around the life of a rebellious teenager, which will be played by Janhvi. It will be directed by Ssanjay Tripaathi while Boney Kapoor will be co-producing the movie with Mahaveer Jain.

3.     Madhuri Dixit Nene to produce a Marathi film – Panchak

Actress Madhuri Dixit Nene who made her debut in Marathi cinema with a film called Bucket List is all set to surprise her fans once again. The actress took to social media to share a picture with husband Sriram posing with a movie clap on the mahurat shoot of their Marathi film, Panchak.

4.     Disha Patani roped in to play the lead in Ekta Kapoor’s next film

Post the success of Dream Girl, director Raaj Shaandaliyaa is all set to begin work on his next with Ekta Kapoor. Based on the life of a young girl in Chandigarh, the film will star Disha Patani playing the lead. The same as confirmed by Ekta in an official statement saying, “Disha has a strong connect with the youth and I couldn't think of anyone else who could portray the wild yet innocent, and crazy yet sensible character. To add to that, Disha's oomph takes it notches higher.”

5.     Salman Khan’s Eid 2020 release now titled India’s Most Wanted Cop- Radhe

Now that Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 is nearing its release, the actor has another surprise in store for all his fans. He will be releasing his next on Eid 2020 which will be helmed by filmmaker-choreographer Prabhudeva. The film is being titled India’s Most Wanted Cop- Radhe and will him playing an undercover cop. According to the report, the film is a remake of the Korean film titled The Outlaws.
