Jailer 2 has been experiencing a generational run, taking just 8 days to cross past the Rs 600 crore mark in worldwide gross collection. Rajinikanth, casually gripping the helm of this fast-sailing ship, is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.
This fast-rising tide has seen a constant momentum of high average numbers. On day 1 of its release, 15 October, which was a Thursday, it brought home Rs 59.7 crores, just shy of 60 in India's net collection. Day 2 saw a significant drop, down to Rs 37.1 crores. But then arrived the weekend, and the Rajinikanth magic shone brightly, collecting Rs 103.1 crores in India's net collection.

Days 5 and 6 continued the majestic flow of numbers, accumulating an average of Rs. 45 crores on both days. On Day 7, there was a considerable drop, with the collection on October 21 being Rs. 28.15 crores.
On Day 8, Jailer 2 collected Rs 17.15 crores in India alone, which, however, showed a considerable drop from its previous momentum. Adding a total of Rs 5 crores from the overseas market, the overall collection, combining both the Indian and the overseas markets, is now at Rs 606.05 crores.

Jailer 2 features a list of high-profile cameos, including Hrithik Roshan from Bollywood making his official Tamil cinema debut in dashing fashion. Mohanlal reprises his famous avatar of Matthew, making his return at a critical moment. Even Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar and Hindi cinema stars Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty and Vidya Balan bring extra layers of madness to this action-packed movie. Suraj Venjaramoodu as Dileep and SJ Suryah as Bodhi Kalpak fintensified the severity of the script as the perfect antagonists.
That’s not all, but the movie ends by hinting at the possibility of another sequel in the franchise, introducing us to the next potential villain.
