Vishal Chaturvedi's Hanuman Ansh released just over a month back on August 7, 2026. Made under a very modest budget of less than Rs 2 crore, the movie pulled in huge numbers, grossing over Rs 50 crores in a short span of time. The story follows the real-life experiences of the revered saint, Neem Karoli Baba. At the tender age of thirteen, he left his hometown after his mother's death. With the belief that a divine meet with Lord Rama through Hanuman could reunite the two, he embarks on this life-long quest. Through this spiritual journey, he begins to radiate the essence of Hanuman, gaining him the title of Hanuman Ansh.
This commercial success helped over doors of possibilities, green lighting the director’s vision of making a sequel. During an interaction with the crowd at a multiplex in Agra, Vishal passionately spoke about the movie’s success and how the story of Neem Karoli Baba was nowhere close to done. A sequel for Hanuman Ansh was always instilled in his vision. The success which his spiritual drama witnessed helped fuel the means to fulfil this dream. In fact, during the official announcement of Hanuman Ansh back in February 2026, it was then stated that the story would be explored within a trilogy.

He further spoke on how the story will focus on his birthplace, Firozabad. The narrative will then move forward towards Agra, Mathura, and various other locations crucial to his spiritual journey. Hanuman Ansh is based on his own book titled Divine Detour. While the book covers the entire narrative he wishes to share, it is left to witness the same take life on the big screen.
