Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Na has remained a favourite among Hindi film audiences more than two decades after its release. The 2004 film, which marked Farah’s directorial debut, starred Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao and Zayed Khan. Over the years, Main Hoon Na has developed a strong nostalgic following and continues to find new audiences on television and streaming platforms.
There has also been recurring speculation about a possible Main Hoon Na 2. The rumours resurfaced earlier this year after reports claimed that Farah Khan could reunite with Shah Rukh Khan for her next directorial. However, Farah had dismissed those reports.
Now, actor Arjun Kapoor has brought the sequel conversation back into focus. While checking into a hotel, Arjun happened to watch Main Hoon Na on television and shared a still from the film on his Instagram Stories.
Calling it one of his all-time favourite films, he wrote, “The joy of watching your all time fav film randomly on tv as you check into a hotel in this digital era...we need a sequel asap!!!” and tagged Farah.
She reposted Arjun’s Story and responded, “Hahaha..agar kisi cheez ko dil se mango..@arjunkapoor lov u.”
Her reply to it plays on the famous dialogue from her 2007 film Om Shanti Om. While Farah has not confirmed that Main Hoon Na 2 is in development, her playful response has once again fuelled speculation around a possible sequel.
Farah and Shah Rukh have collaborated on films such as Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year. Farah has also spoken about returning to feature filmmaking, saying earlier this year that she planned to begin work on her next film after her children leave for college.
Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor was last seen in Mere Husband Ki Biwi, alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. He is also attached to No Entry 2, the sequel to Anees Bazmee’s 2005 comedy No Entry.
