Akshaye Khannas New Avatar As Shukracharyas in Mahakali Grabs The Spotlight

The theatrical release of Hanu-man (2014) established the commencement of a new superhero cinematic universe under the creation of Prashant Varma, i.e., PVCU. Now, two years later, the official trailer for the next installment has released. Mahakali: Shukracharya's War Cry, presented by RKD Studios, will feature the fierce battle between good and evil. Akshaye Khanna plays the pivotal role of the formidable guru of the Asuras, Shukracharya.

 

Mahakali will feature the story of an orphan girl outcasted by the society. With the realisation of the powers she has been granted by Mahakali, she will rise against the evils of the society. The trailer features an intense environment enveloped within a grim atmosphere. Akshaye Khanna commands the screen with his powerful gaze. With an initial glimpse into the world of Mahakali, the curiosity is subtly building up to unveiling of the star-packed cast. Aside from Akshaye Khanna, the cast will include Sriya Reddy, Bhoomi Shetty, Rohit Saraf, Rakesh Bedi, Samuthirakani, Rajat Kapoor, Murali Sharma, Nassar and Prudhviraj.

 

They also share a look at the immersive world-building, followed by an impressive layer of visual effects and make-up art. The trailer finally ends with an extensive look at Sriya Reddy’s portrayal as Mahakali. Another mystery looms, with the presence of a baby which is introduced at the beginning of the trailer. We see a woman carefully placing the baby in the arms of Mahakali. What is left to see is whom the baby in fact is and why Mahakali holds her close in a moment of protection.

Hanu-Man, led by Teja Sajja, marked a monumental beginning for the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. Along with Mahakali, two other titles are also close to making their official release. Adhira is the first one which will delve on the story of a young boy who receives the celestial powers of Lord Indra. The second one being Jai Hanuman, where we follow his journey to fulfil a vow he had presented to Lord Rama. Mahakali will release in theatres on 08 January, 2027.
