Ram Charan is set to undergo a scheduled wrist surgery in Coimbatore after sustaining an injury while filming action and wrestling sequences for his blockbuster sports drama Peddi. The actor left for the city on Sunday and was accompanied by his wife Upasana, father Chiranjeevi, mother Surekha, and other family members. The surgery comes after months of managing the injury while completing work commitments. Sources close to the actor indicate that the procedure is planned and that there is no cause for concern.

Second surgery in four months
This marks Ram Charan's second surgery in four months. Earlier this year, in March, the actor underwent a minor procedure after suffering an injury to his left eyelid during the filming of Peddi. The surgery was performed by a specialist in Hyderabad, and Charan made a swift recovery, returning to the sets within days.
Reflecting on the film's demanding production, the actor had described Peddi as one of the most challenging roles of his career. He reportedly spent nearly 285 days working on the project, which required intense physical preparation and extensive action sequences. Released on June 4, the film emerged as a major success at the Telugu box office.

Several Tollywood stars recovering from injuries
Ram Charan is not the only Telugu star to have undergone medical procedures this year. His uncle, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, underwent sinus surgery in Hyderabad earlier this year before later undergoing arthroscopic surgery in Mumbai to repair torn rotator cuff tendons in his right shoulder. He is currently recovering under a structured rehabilitation programme.
Meanwhile, Varun Tej also suffered an injury while preparing for his upcoming sports drama Bhari. The actor fractured his knee during volleyball training for the role and subsequently underwent surgery. He has since been recovering and gradually resuming professional commitments.
On the work front, attention is now shifting to Ram Charan's next film with director Sukumar. While the project is currently in the scripting phase, industry reports suggest that production timelines could be adjusted depending on the actor's recovery and rehabilitation schedule.
