72nd National Film Awards: Kartik Aaryan Shares Best Actor Honour With Mammootty Full List Inside

The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards were announced today, July 18. The jury, headed by filmmaker Jayaraj, honoured films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024. The awards recognise the best Indian films released during the 2024 calendar year.

Mammootty won the Best Actor Award for his performance in the Malayalam film Bramayugam, sharing the honour with Kartik Aaryan, who was recognised for Chandu Champion.

Yami Gautam was named Best Actress for her performance in Article 370. The film also emerged as the biggest winner, taking home the Best Feature Film Award. Yadhu Vamsee's Committee Kurrollu was adjudged the Best Telugu Film, while Rajkumar Periasamy won the Best Director Award for Amaran.

Actor Dhanush received a Special Mention for Captain Miller, while Meiyazhagan earned a Special Mention for its Sound Mixing.
