The Valentine’s Day weekend has brought a good boost to the Indian box office, with two major releases, O’ Romeo and Tu Yaa Main, witnessing an upward trend in their collections. While Shahid Kapoor’s romantic action drama has dominated the charts, the adventure-thriller Tu Yaa Main also saw a healthy jump on its second day.
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, O’ Romeo has emerged as the first choice for cinephiles this weekend. After an opening of an estimated Rs 8.5 crore on Friday, the film saw its numbers rise to an estimated Rs 12.25 crore on Saturday. This brings the film’s all-India net total to an estimated Rs 20.75 crore.
While advance bookings suggested a start in the Rs 5 crore range, positive word of mouth have helped the figures go higher. Globally, O’ Romeo has scored a gross total of Rs 24.6 crore at the Indian box office, and with an additional Rs 2 crore from overseas markets, its worldwide total stands at Rs 26.6 crore. Along with Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the film features an ensemble cast including Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, and Farida Jalal.

Sharing the box office clash is Tu Yaa Main, starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor. The film, which revolves around social media influencers trapped in a swimming pool with a crocodile, saw its collections double on Day 2. After starting with Rs 60 lakh on Friday, it earned an estimated Rs 1.4 crore on Saturday, taking its two-day net total to Rs 2 crore. Its gross total collection currently stands at an estimated Rs 2.35 crore.
Tu Yaa Main has already surpassed the lifetime collection of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan (Rs 1.77 crore) and is now Shanaya Kapoor’s highest-earning film to date. It is also approaching the record of Adarsh Gourav’s Superboys of Malegaon, which holds a net collection of Rs 5.32 crore.

Currently, O’ Romeo holds the top spot at the weekend box office. The war drama Border 2, in its fourth week, remains steady at the second spot, earning Rs 1.90 crore on Saturday with Tu Yaa Main following in the third position.
