Vikrant Massey is known to be an experimental actor in the industry and someone who has impressed the audience with his diverse choice of roles. One of his recent released, 12th Fail, became a sleeper hit and earned him praises from fans and critics alike. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film is based on the novel of the same name by Anurag Pathak. The book is inspired by the real-life stories of IPS Officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and his wife IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi.

During an exclusive interview with Filmfare a couple of years ago, the actor was asked whether he had to struggle to get the different roles he portrayed over the years. He said that he never faced anything of that sort and hailed the filmmaking community for being “merit-based.”

The actor said, "Not at all. I have never faced that. I think our filmmaking community is absolutely merit-based. If you are doing your work well, with passion and honesty, then people will give you recognition. Yes, there are filmmakers I really want to work with. I still have dreams of working with so many of them. I know that for them to give me a chunk of their time, I need to deliver certain things, which I haven’t yet."

He continued, "For example, if I deliver consistently at the box-office, which I hope I do, then maybe I will be able to work with some of the directors I want to work with. But am I not working with good directors and writers already? I am. So, I am really happy with my reality."
Vikrant Massey was last seen in the film The Sabarmati Report. Filmfare recently reported exclusively that he is expected to share the screen with Shahid Kapoor for Vishal Bhardwaj's next.
