Director Nag Ashwin has shared an exciting update about the highly anticipated sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, the sci-fi mythological thriller that became a massive box-office sensation. Speaking to the media ahead of the re-release of his debut film, Yevade Subramanyam, he confirmed that work on the sequel has already begun. Fans won’t have to wait too long, as filming is set to start in December this year. With the first installment leaving audiences eager for more, this announcement has only heightened the excitement around the next chapter in the story.
Ashwin also addressed the burning question on fans’ minds—how much screen time will Prabhas have in the sequel? He explained that the first film was primarily focused on setting up the world and introducing key characters. A significant portion of the story was dedicated to the backstories of Sumati, played by Deepika Padukone, and Ashwatthama, portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan.
