Acclaimed Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is a diva who carries a distinct persona. Whether on-screen or off it, she never fails to mesmerize audiences with her charm and elegance. While the actress has been an inspiration to many women in various ways, it was the women on screen who inspired her to step into the world of entertainment. When asked about her inspiration behind getting into acting, Deepika said, "You know, I think for me just as a young girl growing up, I grew up in a family full of sportsmen and athletes, and we didn't watch very many movies but few movies that we watched in a year, everytime we went into the cinema, I’d look at these amazing women and be inspired by them and sort of knew somewhere deep down inside as a child that, that is something I would be doing one day."

The actress continued, "I don't know how, I have no idea how I was going to go about it, but I felt like that's where I belonged. And so I started my career as a model first, that was my real passion, and then I got discovered by Farah Khan, one of the few Indian directors, female directors, and yes, I debuted in 2017. And there's been no looking back since."
Having recently embraced motherhood, she is excelling in that role as well. While she was away from the cinema world for a while, we certainly missed her presence.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone once opened up about pay disparity during a candid conversation with Filmfare. The actress said, "Especially, when wage disparity has been such an important conversation, I’m glad it’s finally come to the fore. I’m also proud of it because I’ve earned it, not demanded it. It’s backed by the work I’ve put in over the years. Even if I’d demanded it, nobody is a fool to pay you that kind of money for no reason. Where bridging the wage disparity between actors and actresses is concerned, we still have a long way to go. But this is definitely a landmark moment."
