Why is 2025 being called the year of BTS?

K-Pop fans, especially the ones who support 3rd gen groups like BTS, BLACKPINK, Red Velvet, GFriend and more are in a mood to rejoice. These groups are making their highly-anticipated comebacks. ARMYs are specially enthusiastic about BTS' comeback, as this would mark their first post-military comeback as a group.

While members Jin and J-Hope have already served their 2-year military tenure and have been discharged in 2024, the other members - RM, SUGA, Jimin, V and Jungkook are scheduled to be discharged in 2025. Amidst all the buzz about their discharge dates, ARMYs cannot help but celebrates BTS' reunion post military service.

In a recent interview, J-Hope confirmed the reunion. While speaking about making a comeback, he said, "When we are all back together as a group, it's going to have a huge impact, and everybody is going to be watching." He also hoped to get back on stage with the group and perform like they used to. "I want to come back in style and say, 'This is us; this is BTS,'" the rapper said. He further noted, "Even now, I'm here because of the group. Working with others is still so fun and fulfilling and makes me so happy."

Many reports further speculate that the group will return with a full album and a world tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of  The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series in 2025. While the same hasn't been confirmed by BTS, their agency had noted that the members may reunite in 2026. "We are currently in discussions with the members about activities in 2026. While a full group comeback would generate considerable revenue, we expect it will not account for as high a share of our earnings as in the past, as our other artists and new ventures are also contributing to growth,"  CFO Lee Kyung Joon said.
