Jigra sees a dip in its numbers at the box office

Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina's Jigra which was released on October 11, has seen a sharp decline in its box office numbers, despite showing hope over the weekend. On day 1, it earned Rs 4.5 crore, followed by Rs 6.5 crore on Day 2 and Rs 5.47 approximately on Day 3. Owing to the weekend and Dusshera, the film showed promising growth, however, the steep decline came on day 4 as the film earned only Rs 1.45 crore. 

So far, the Hindi version has minted out around Rs 17.92 crores, and the Telugu version has earned Rs 0.13 crore, taking the net collection in India to Rs 18.05 crores. Globally, the film has earned Rs 26 crore. Currently, Vasan Bala's Jigra is facing competition from Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Till Diwali, the film has time to recover its numbers before it faces tough competition from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again.

Jigra follows the story of a young woman Satya (Alia) and her brother Ankur (Vedang) who is imprisoned. How she rescues her brother from the jail forms the crux of the film. The film also stars Manoj Pahwa, Harssh A. Singh, Rahul Ravindran and Vivek Gomber among others.
