After months of speculations and postponements, Kabir Khan’s much awaited directorial venture, ’83 finally has a release date. The film narrates the story of Indian’s World Cup win from 1983 through the eyes of captain Kapil Dev. The lead is portrayed by Ranveer Singh and has other actors like Angad Bedi, Saqib Saleem, Ammi Virk, Harrdy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, portraying the rest of the cricket team. Pankaj Tripathi will be seen playing the coach of the team.
Sharing the poster of the film, Ranveer Singh announced that the film will hit the big screen on June 4, this year and will release in five languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The film also stars Deepika Padukone in a cameo as Kapil Dev’s wife, Romi Dev.
This news comes in a good time as the government has allowed 100% occupancy in the theatres now. With some norms still in place, the theatres are now fully functional and other movies like Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, Shershaah and more have announced their release dates too.
