Bollywood attracts millions of faces from different corners of the country every year. But the truth is only a few of them manage to make the cut. And even less manage to hold onto their stardom. An actor’s career graph is non-linear and unpredictable. Not all stars can stomach the uncertain nature of this profession. Some realise that this is not what they wnat to do. And some have simply had their run, so they change lanes.

1. Twinkle Khanna
Twinkle Khanna made her debut with the film Barsaat in 1995. After being part of hits like Badshaah, Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan, Twinkle left the film industry in 2001. Twinkle is now a successful films producer, interior designer, author and a newspaper columnist.
2. Soha Ali Khan
Soha Ali Khan kickstarted her journey in 2004 with Dil Maange More. Her work in films like Khoya Khoya Chand, Rang De Basanti, Tum Mile and 99 was much appreciated. It seemed like she was here to stay. However, Soha decided to bid farewell to the silver screen in 2015 after she tied the knot with actorKunal Kemmu. Since then she’s found the writer in her and has gone on to author a book titled The Perils of Being Moderately Famous.
3. Dino Morea
Dino Morea began his career with modelling. He then switched to Bollywood with Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. He rose to fame with the thriller Raaz. But his career didn’t really take off. So the astute actor decided to instead focus on the hospitality business. He now owns a chain of restaurants in Mumbai
4. Preity Zinta
Bollywood’s ultimate girl next door girl Preity Zinta forayed into Bollywood with Dil Se. She went on to feature in several blockbusters including Veer Zaara, Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Koi Mil Gaya, Lakshya. Preity now owns the IPL team Kings XI Punjab and co-owns South-African T20 Global League cricket team Stellenbosch Kings. Way to go girl
5. Kumar Gaurav
Kumar Gaurav was touted to be the next big thing after he made an impressive debut with Love Story in 1981. But his career soon reached a dead end. Instead of wasting his time in Bollywood, he decided to look for an alternate career. He now owns a successful travel business in Maldives.
