Kangana Ranaut starrer Panga released in the theatres last Friday. Directed by Ashiwin Iyer Tiwari the film stars Richa Chadha, Jassie Gill and Neena Gupta in important roles. The film narrates the story of a female kabaddi player, who makes a comeback to the sport in her early 30’s with the love and support of her family.
Despite receiving a lot of praise and love from the critics and the masses, the film opened to a Rs. 2.70 crore on its first day. It saw a hike on the weekend and made 5.61 crore and Rs 6.60 crore, on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The film however saw a dip in its box-office collection on Monday. Making Rs 1.65 crore on Monday, the film’s box-office collection now stands at Rs. 16.56 crore.
Panga faces tough competition from Varun Dhawan starrer Street Dancer 3D and the Ajay Devgn- Saif Ali Khan starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior at the box-office. We’ll have to wait and watch on how good word-of-mouth publicity will add to the collections of Panga.
