Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Panga hit the theatres last Friday. Starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, the film narrates the story of a female kabbadi player, who decides to make a comeback in her early 30s. The sports drama also stars Richa Chadha, Neena Gupta and Jassie Gill.
Receiving good reviews from both the critics and the audiences, Panga earned Rs. 2.70 crore on its first day at the box-office. The film’s earnings registered a hike over the weekend. Earning Rs. 5.61 crore on Saturday and Rs. 6.60 crore on Sunday, Panga’s total at the box-office now stands at Rs. 14.91 crore. The film is facing tough competition from the Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Street Dancer 3D and Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan’s Tanhaji.
Well, we’ll have to wait to find out how the positive word-of-mouth and reviews for the film, will add to its box-office collection.
