Varun Dhawan believes in showing his versatility as an actor. Be it romcoms, out and out comedies or intense characters, the actor goes out of his way to play different characters. Now the young actor has signed his next which happens to be Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming film based on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Arun Khetarpal was honoured with the Param Vir Chakra and became the youngest recipient of India’s highest military accolade.
Director Sriram and Varun were completely moved by the war hero’s story who was martyred during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The director-actor are excited to bring his story on screen and the filmmaker has been working on the story for more than 6 months now. Speaking about signing the film, Varun told a leading daily, “When I heard Arun Khetarpal's story I was awed that this could have actually happened! I understood then why Dinoo (Dinesh Vijan) and Sriram are so passionate about it. When I met Arun's brother Mukesh, I was moved. I too have a brother and I can understand what he must have gone through.”
The actor posted on social media too, a picture of Arun Khetarpal and captioned it saying "Happy Birthday 2/lt #ARUNKHETRAPAL. It's always been my dream to play a soldier of INDIA. This is my most important film. Can't wait to be directed by the mad genius Sriram Raghavan one more time to bring to big screen the life of 2/lt #ARUNKHETARAPAL.
