The 1975 cult classic, Chupke Chupke starring Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bhaduri, Asrani and Om Prakash is considered one of the most entertaining and evergreen Bollywood films. And guess what, owing to its popularity, the film is being remade with the talented actor Rajkummar Rao. The actor will be seen playing the legendary Dharmendra's character, Dr Parimal Tripathi, in the remake of this classic. Speaking about this new journey, he told a daily, “It’s a big responsibility to step into his shoes. The scripting is underway now. We know that we can’t match Hrishida’s (Hrishikesh Mukherjee, director, Chupke Chupke) standard, but we will try and put our best foot forward.”
Interestingly, as Rajkummar let out, he was offered Dostana 2 but was not able to take it on because of dates issues and other commitments. “My next project, opposite Priyanka Chopra, will be shot at the same time. But it’s a great script and Colin D’Cunha, the director, is my classmate from FTII,” explained Rajkummar.
We might have missed out on Rajkummar Rao in Dostana 2 but we're sure, the actor will fill that void with the Chupke Chupke remake!
