Shah Rukh Khan has been named as the chief guest for the 10th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Australia.
In an interview with a leading daily, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about how he was delighted to be receiving such an honour. He said, “I’m honoured and delighted to accept the invitation from the Victorian government and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. An industry of our magnitude and diversity deserves to be celebrated with great passion and fervour, which is what the festival embodies.”
The superstar is looking forward to the festival particularly because of the theme they have opted for this year. The theme of the festival is courage, an emotion that resonates with filmmakers who try to bring in a change in the thinking of the people through their work. He also spoke about his memories of the city while shooting for Shimit Amin’s Chak De India!
Earlier, popular Bollywood celebrities like Rani Mukerji, Vidya Balan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor were part of the festival. The film festival will be held between August 8 to August 17 this year.
