It is not widely unpopular for some journalists to spew personal opinions in their articles. One such case of yellow journalism published under The Cut had Mariah Smith take on Priyanka Chopra for being a global scam artist. Her constant bickering about how she seems to have trapped husband Nick Jonas into a marriage and is a gold digger went on to enrage quite a few people around the world.
Priyanka Chopra has a huge fan base around the globe and rightly so, she is one of the biggest stars the country has seen. She’s been a part of over 50 Indian films and has been on primetime television in America with her now-cancelled series Quantico. While her engagement and wedding with Nick Jonas came as a surprise to many of us, it did get a lot of backlash for the diva because of the age difference between the two. Nonetheless, the superstar is now married to Nick Jonas and is all set for a happy life. Reacting to the slander by the publication, Priyanka handled the situation with grace and said, "I don’t even want to react or comment. It’s not even in my stratosphere. I’m in a happy place at this moment. These kinds of random things can’t disturb it."
Not just PeeCee, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner also took to social to express their disappointment and said, "This is wildly inappropriate and totally disgusting. Very disappointed that The Cut would give anyone a platform to spew such bullshit." Jonas sent out an angry tweet saying, "This is disgusting. @TheCut should be ashamed to have someone write such evil words. What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love. Thank u, Next." Not just family, friends like Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor also came in support of the actress to talk about the article written against her.
